A big thank you to all of the organizations that have come to the aid of Minds Eye Information Service by donating the funds needed to purchase additional radios for use by potential
listeners. Our stock of available radios had dwindled down to
the single digits recently and we desperately needed to have more available to meet our increasing demand.

We now have estimates to establish Minds Eye firmly on the
Internet so that our listeners will have another option for
receiving our broadcasts. The total cost for programming all of
the features we want the site to have is approximately $15,000. Our goal is to break the development work down into three, roughly equal pieces. This will allow us to rapidly gain a web presence and build on it as our resources allow.
The first stage will give us a basic website that includes
information about our service, access to applications for service and volunteering, electronic versions of our program guide and newsletter, listings of upcoming events, and a profile of one of our listeners. This basic developmental work will cost $5,550 and could be done by the middle of summer if funding becomes available.

The second stage would add webcasting of our radio
programming, giving our listeners another avenue to hear their
favorite programs. It would also allow us to archive a week’s
worth of programs on the website so that they could be downloaded at the listeners’ convenience. This represents another $5,200 in programmer’s fees, but allows us to expand the number of options available for listening. Even more exciting is the opportunity it gives us to reach listeners who live beyond our current broadcast radius of 50 miles from St. Louis.

You can join us on this road to increased accessibility. All we
need are eleven people who are willing to donate $500 each to make the first part of our dream come true!
