Minds Eye Think ‘n’ Drink Trivia Night Will Feature Open Bar

Minds Eye Information Service, a radio reading service, will hold a Think ‘n’ Drink Trivia Night fundraiser Nov. 7 at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows Visitor Center in Belleville, IL. Doors open at 6 p.m. and trivia begins at 7 p.m. The cost is $25 per person for tables of no more than eight, including a two hour open bar beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tables may bring food; outside drinks are prohibited. Participants are encouraged to preregister by calling 618-394-6444 or 314-241-3400, ext. 6444 or sending an e-mail to mindseye@oblatesusa.org.

Think ‘n’ Drink Trivia Night will feature a two hour open bar, 10 rounds of trivia questions, games and attendance prizes. Emcee for the evening, John Weidlich, is an experienced trivia host with great insight into the work of Minds Eye.

“Radio reading services like Minds Eye are invaluable to people who can’t see printed materials because they provide them with the ability to function in their community. Minds Eye listeners need to know what is going on in the community, what is happening with the election. They need the empowerment of being able to access magazines, newspaper, books and other printed materials themselves, simply by turning on a radio,” Weidlich said.

Weidlich should know — he has worked at Minds Eye as the program director for more than 32 years and has been blind from birth. His dedication to the work of Minds Eye and quick wit makes him a favorite host among trivia night attendees.
