MINDS EYE CELEBRATES 35 YEARS OF SERVICE
TO THE BLIND AND PRINT DISABLED

When Minds Eye Information Service began broadcasting on March 1, 1973, it had 4 listeners, 10 radio receivers and a handful of volunteers.  Today, the radio station broadcasts 24 hours a day, seven days a week to over 11,000 blind and print disabled listeners in the St. Louis and metro east area.

Over 180 volunteers read the daily newspaper, TV listings, grocery store and department store sale circulars, movie reviews, sports scores, magazine articles and books.

In honor of their 35th anniversary, Minds Eye Information Service will be hosting an Open House on Thursday, February 28th for all current and past volunteers, listeners, and friends from 4:30-9:00 p.m. The event will be held at the radio station located at 9541 Church Circle Drive, on the grounds of the National Shrine of our Lady of the Snows in Belleville.

Those interested in attending should RSVP by calling (618) 394-6222 or (314) 241-3400 ext 6222.
