Minds Eye Volunteer Don Klein Featured in Local Paper for His Volunteer Contributions

Minds Eye volunteer reader Don Klein was featured in The Tribune last week recognizing the wonderful contribution that he makes to Minds Eye.  Klein has been a loyal Minds Eye volunteer for more than a year, bringing “The Men’s Hour” into the homes of listeners every Tuesday.  He took his commitment to Minds Eye listeners one step further by introducing the organization to the Rotary Club of Fairview Heights.  Members of the club met with Jesuita Tabor, Minds Eye listener, and Janet Creath, development director at Minds Eye, to learn more about the many ways that the radio reading service enhances the lives of blind, visually impaired and print impaired community members.  Klein’s efforts are a true example of the wonderful impact that service has on the local community.  To read this story, visit http://heraldpubs.com/articles/2009/11/30/fairview/doc4b13fbd3ae237336921100.txt.

Minds Eye Volunteer Joan Seiler Wins Annual Recipe Contest

For many holiday seasons, the Suburban Journals and Schnuck Markets host a Holiday Recipe Contest to determine the holiday recipe that tops them all.  This year, Joan Seiler, Minds Eye volunteer reader and baker extraordinaire, took Best of Show upon winning the Delightful Desserts category.  Her Hershey Bar Cheesecake was a favorite of judges this year and has been a favorite in Seiler family for many, many years.  The Holiday Recipe Contest presents awards to newspaper readers who take the time to share their favorite holiday recipes.  To read the entire story, visit http://suburbanjournals.stltoday.com/articles/2009/11/25/stclair/news/1125cvj-recipe0000000.txt.
